So you have a website and it rarely (if ever) generates any sales for your business?
But you know what the problem is right? It just doesn’t’ get enough traffic.
If only you could get a truckload of traffic (or a large amount of media exposure) you would be set right?
Well I have something to tell you that you not really going to want to hear, but ignore this at your peril.
If your website isn’t generating sales (or email optins) with a small amount of traffic, sending larger volumes of traffic to it isn’t going to solve your problems.
In fact it’s only going to make matters worse as you will become increasingly frustrated that you spent a large chunk of cash on traffic, only to find out those visitors didn’t buy because?
Your real problem is that your conversion process sucks.
Now you maybe thinking what do you mean by conversion process Beanie?
You just send people to your website from an advertisement, and they either buy or they don’t right?
If you aren’t making enough sales you just need more traffic. That’s the way it works isn’t it?
Short Answer is No.
That’s not the way it works. And that thinking is the reason the majority of business owners never get a decent return on the money they invest in their advertising.
If you have thought that way up until now, don’t feel bad about it. That’s what the majority of advertising companies want you to believe, because they get paid to sell advertising space.
They’re really not interested in what results you get. As far as their concerned that’s your problem not theirs.
Why am I telling you this?
You’re probable thinking this right now? You’re an advertising – marketing consultant Beanie, why would you tell me how to fix my marketing. What’s your angle?

Let me give you a real world example of a conversion problem.
The other day I was fortunate enough to have a chat with Gideon Shalwick on a YouTube Live Event he was running.
Early on in the event Gideon told a story about how back in 2007 he wrote a book called…

In Gideons words not long after he wrote that book he had… “A Rude Awakening”
If you fast forward the video to the 9:39 mark, that’s where Gideon starts the story.
Gideon spent $3000.00 on a full page Magazine Ad that promised him massive exposure through their huge readership.
The advertisement that he ran yielded a very poor result for him. Let’s break down those figures right now and see just how bad it was.
- $3000.00 for the full page Magazine Advertisement
- At last count between 2007 and now he has had a grand total of 33 downloads!
- That works out at $90.90 per lead to give away a FREE BOOK!
So what went wrong?
It’s pretty simple really, the advertisement just didn’t compel people to take action.
I am not writing this article to scare you off of magazine advertising. On the contrary. A well written ad in a highly targeted magazine can work exceptionally well.
If you get it right.
What I want you to get out of this post is the fact that you get can as much of these as you like…
- Massive Media Exposure.
- Truckloads of Traffic.
- Enormous Email Lists to send your offers to.
But it’s going to make very little difference to your business unless your website is set up properly to convert them into customers.
Now that may not be what you wanted to hear. But guess what? It’s a good thing because..
Now that you know about it, you can fix it.

It’s one of the quickest easiest ways to generate tons more sales and grow your business fast.
So let’s take a look at what you need to do.
- Select a single target market.
- Get them to identify themselves as having a problem you can fix.
- Send them to a very specific web page that speaks only about their problem.
- Collect their details so that you can follow up with them.
Let’s write an example ad right now. This is one I would write for myself.

It’s the most cost effective tool every small business owner that’s serious about growing their business quickly should have at their disposal.
So what would be on the website that I send them to?

That’s so that when they land on that website they’re not looking around for the information that they want, it’s right in front of them where they can’t miss it.
The headline grabs them straight away and their brain goes yep we’re in the right spot, keep reading.
Then I kick straight into the reason that I sent them there for, which is to learn how to write compelling magazine ad’s.
Lastly of course I have my own call to action, which in this case is sign up for the FREE live training I am offering.
What you do at this point really depends on your business. You could simply ask them to enter their email address for an in-depth FREE Report or video training series. Or you could use one of these options below…
- Enter their contact details for a discounted consultation.
- Get them to come into your shop for a special offer.
- Have them call you for more information.
- Have them sign up for Free Online Training You’re running.
The list of possible options goes on and on. The point of it all is to compel them to give you their contact details so that you can start educating and motivating them to buy from you.
And that’s pretty much it.
That’s how you quickly and easily save yourself bucket loads of money on your advertising, and start generating a ton more sales.
