What are the most common mistakes that people make with their posts, give us like 3 to 5 of your worst nightmares?

In October 2016 I spoke at the Turn Up Annual Music Conference in Nambour.

First question off of the rank was that question above.

My response?

Dead simple straight up they talk about themselves.

I just did this, I just fed my cat, I just posted a photo, I just posted a video. No one cares less about what you did, not even your Mum ok!

People want to know about themselves, and what’s in it for them.

Now that may seem a little harsh, but it’s the truth.

The main reason business owners struggle to build an effective Social Media presence is because they still haven’t figured out that their online presence isn’t about themselves, it’s about their customers.

Contrary to conspiracy theories (spread by people that mainly post crap) their stuff isn’t getting shared on Facebook for one reason, people aren’t interested in what they’re posting.

When Bonnie Raitt wrote the song, Let’s give them something to talk about.

She absolutely nailed what you need to do with your Social Media presence for people to spread the word about your business far and wide.

You have to give them something worth talking about.

A client and mentor of mine (Barry Bull) figured this out many years ago when he ran Toombul Music.

If only Social Media had been around in his day imagine what he would have done with it!

Barry brought Rock Stars to his shop so that their fans could get up close and personal with them.

The result?

He gave them something to really talk about and word about Toombul Music spread like wildfire.

I literally learned about Burgers By Josh because of someone (two people actually) talking about it.

If you’ve been on Facebook for any length of time you’d have seen a photo of a sandwich board that says…

Do you know that if each of us spent $100 a year more on a local business instead of chain stores, it’d put an extra $3 million a year into our economy, not only that but it’d create thousands more jobs every year

I have a love hate relationship with this sign.

I love the concept, I love small business and I really want to see it flourish. But I hate the victim – welfare mentality behind the way that the idea is shared.

IMHO it’s basically saying…

Here’s a problem, here’s the solution, I’ve done my bit sharing it now somebody else should do something to fix it.

I also hate the fact that people seem to think that the mere act of sharing it around is their way of making a difference.

Sharing that photo without taking action makes f#ck all difference.

Now if you’ve shared it, this isn’t a personal shot at you. In fact I’m just as guilty for not taking action that could make a difference.

I’ve been telling anyone that’ll listen about the problem with this sign, and the fact that without action it’s a complete waste of time, but I’ve done nothing about creating a positive solution, until now.

My Dad who passed away just over two years ago always told me…

Don’t complain about something, unless you’re prepared to do something about fixing it.

I have to put my hand up and say that I’ve complained about people sharing this sign, without doing something about fixing the problem so I’m just as guilty as everyone that’s shared it.

The rot stops right now, enough is enough.

Here’s what I’m changing the focus to, and here’s how I’m going to do it.

The focus – mantra for fixing the problem is going to be…

Do you know that if every business owner on the Sunshine Coast committed to spending just 15 minutes per day, 3 to 4 times per week taking one of the following actions, the Sunshine Coast community would be the shining light that all business and governments all around the world would look to for advice on how to build financially strong vibrant communities.

Here’s just a few idea’s for actions…

Train staff on how to help customers make informed, intelligent decisions about their purchases.
Create irresistible offers that customers are delighted to purchase.
Create services that over deliver on value for the price that they charge for them.
Create direct response advertising that makes it easy for people to understand what they’re offering
Make it easy for people to get started using their products and or services
Personalise the customer experience instead of just treating them like a wallet with legs.
Make it a priority to remember customers names.
Treat interaction on Social Media like it’s a piece of Gold instead of just another hassle.
Make their websites, advertising, marketing all about the customer and their problems, instead of about themselves.
Treat customer complaints as an opportunity to improve.
Actively listen to people when they speak.

One action for another business that you buy from and support.

Far too many groups that I see just become a spam fest for people to pitch their products – services.
Because everyone within the group is just posting their “hey look at me buy my stuff” type of posts, people lose interest in the group, posted get ignored, and the interaction dies.

In this group you don’t post what you have for sale, you post an action – strategy that you’ve implemented.

This way you’ll be creating buzz about your business by sharing great stories about the action that you’re taking, instead of just saying, “hey look at me you should buy my stuff”

It doesn’t always have to be a success story.

If you tried something and it didn’t work particularly well, then post and let us all know as no doubt someone in the group will have an idea that’ll be a solution to your problem.

Each time you take an action (so three times per week & I’ll be checking to make sure everyone is doing their bit every week & removing people from the group that aren’t) you drop into the group and comment to let everyone know that you’ve taken your action and that you’re on track for the week.

The goal isn’t to put $3 million back into the economy, it’s to blow that out of the water by ten times.

So I’m going to post this on Facebook and ask people to share it with the difference being this…

Why Online Groups have become a Cess Pit for Starving Business Owners fighting over sales like seagulls fighting over a hot chip

Just a quick note before you start reading this post and think that this isn’t relevant to you because I’m talking about what happens in Facebook Groups focused on the wedding industry.

The exact same thing happens in every group, in every industry.

And in just a few short minutes you’ll see exactly what I mean, so let’s rock on!

If you’ve spent anytime in an online group then you’ve probably seen a conversation just like this…

He’s finally asked me the question (will you marry me) who’s the cheapest person to…

Take the photographs
Cater my wedding
Arrange the flowers
Print the invitations
Etc, etc, etc

Let me set the scene for you here, as this is a true story that happened Friday 9/1/2016 just {it’s a while ago now} gone.

I had three different business owners booked in for a FREE custom marketing campaign, two of which happened to have businesses that are directly related to the wedding industry.

The first business owner that I met at Emjays Cafe in Birtinya (I’ll give them a plug as they do a fantastic banana smoothie, and their brekkie wrap is great as well) at the start of our consultation was very sceptical about the quality of customers that could be generated from Facebook.

Her first questions was

Is it really possible to attract quality clients through Facebook that aren’t just looking to screw you down to the lowest possible price?

All I see are people cutting each other’s throats on price just to win a wedding was her comment.

How is that happening I asked?

It was then that she told me the story above about recently engaged ladies posting status updates in Facebook groups along the lines of…

He’s finally asked me the question (will you marry me) who’s the cheapest person to…

You should see what happens next she said.

It’s like a flock of seagulls (hence the title of this post) fighting over a hot chip. Everyone that has a wedding related business is in the comments fighting to the death to win the job.

I just can’t be bothered doing that she said.

Neither you should was my reply. After all statistics tell us that 80% of businesses go broke in the first five years, so if you’re competing on price, you’re literally competing against someone that’s going broke, and there’s only one way for that to go for you.

So what do you do instead she asked.

Well there’s numerous ways that I get around it, but there’s two that I particularly want to focus on today.

I use a very effective advertisement that flushes out high quality buyers not hung up on price.
I use Facebook groups completely the opposite way that you’re seeing them used.

You have my attention she said go on

I learnt this lesson from marketing legend Mal Emery a long time ago.

“People buy purely based on price, because they have no other way to compare two products”

I said if you think there’s a lot of competition in the wedding market you should see how many self proclaimed “Social Media Experts” are out there.

Literally anyone that can post a Facebook status update can set themselves up a Facebook Page for FREE, give themselves some sort of a B.S. title like I’m a Social Media Queen, King, Guru (you’ve seen one right?) and start selling their services.

Believe it or not though they’re actually making it easy for me to stand out because…

1. The only thing they know how to do is post statuses or they have some sort of spam strategy to generate high volume, but poor quality likes, followers, etc.
2. They’re hanging around Facebook groups like Seagulls fighting over the odd scrap as well.
3. They make it so easy for me to point out what they’re doing doesn’t ever stand a snowflakes chance in hell of turning into profitable sales.

So I just leave them to it and do this instead.

Going back to Mal’s advice, I make it my job to inform the business owners in these groups that the low-cost services these other businesses are offering are low cost for a reason.

It’s because what they don’t generate results (sales)

Instead of posting about what I do and what it costs, I write posts that lead people over to my blog where I can educate them about how to do their marketing properly at the best possible price.

Your message has to get in front of them when they’re bored, and it’s got to entertain them with a story.

Lead people across to my blog where I can educate them as to why my services are much better value than the cheap crap that’s being offered by others.

At the top of my blog is the famous Red Adair saying…

“If you think that it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur”

If someone posts in a group who’s the best, cheapest (or whatever other analogy they use) person to contact about marketing, I don’t touch that post with a barge pole.

There’s no way that I’m going to cheapen my services by fighting like a seagull over a hot chip.

There’s plenty of quality customers out there, looking for the quality services that I offer, so why would I want to be competing on price against rank amateurs?

I also watch for specific problems that I can help people with just like this.

I saw a tradie post an update in a group along the lines of what we’ve just been talking.

His post said something along the lines of, I do quality work, that’s why I’m not as cheap as most of my competition, and I’m not going to do inferior work that’ll tarnish my reputation just to compete on price.

When he posted that update I posted the Red Adair saying (“If you think that it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur”) in the comments.

Which he liked, so I sent him a message.

Hey Dave (not his real name) this is Beanie from Sunshine Coast Social Media Marketing.

23rd of December 2015 (that sounds so long ago when you say it like that)

I’m sitting at my favorite cafe (Riba Kai) in the Sunshine Plaza and of course, the place is a madhouse as it’s two days before the fat man in the red suit arrives.

I’m chatting with a lady that I’ve done a lot of charity work with this year, and somehow the topic turns to gaining people’s attention at this time of year.

She is particularly referring to what I do which is marketing consultations for business owners.

New Year’s Eve we all decided to head up to Noosa for a walk and an ice cream. The kids took around to Hell’s Gates (which is miles) so my wife and I sat on a bench at the national park to just take in the sunset until they got back.

It was in a pub in Melbourne that then Fleetwood Mac manager Dennis Dunstan discovered the sensational tunes that the boys from Men at Work were pumping out.

You had to see it Beanie, the joint was packed

People literally clambering to get in the doors to hear them play.

As soon as I heard that flute playing the opening to Men Down Under I knew that these boys had something special.

But having something special isn’t enough, there’s tons of talent out there that never manage to do any more than scratch out a meager living playing gigs at the local pub.

Long story short, Dennis took a sample cd back to the rest of the Fleetwood Mac management team, and the decision was made to make Men At Work the opening act for the Mac’s 1982 tour.

Now you’d think that being the support act for Fleetwood Mac (who were that hottest band on the planet at that time) would be enough to skyrocket you to stardom right.

Wrong, there’s a little more to it than that.

Luckily for the Boys, they had Dennis looking out for their best interest, and he devised this exceptionally brilliant marketing plan that shot them to stardom like a rocket.

Here’s what Dennis made them do…

Dennis told them right boys, when you go on first before the Mac you’re going to deliver the kind of performance that’s going to blow the crowd away.

At the end of your set you’re going to tell the crowd, be sure to head down to (insert venue name) and catch us there live after the main show is done.

Then you’re going to pack all of your gear up and head to the most popular venue that’s as close as possible to where the Mac concert was held (where everyone will be heading after Mac is finished) and do another gig.

The boys were up in arms!

You want us to play two gigs in one night when we’re opening for Mac. Isn’t that enough?

No, it’s not enough Dennis told them and yes that’s exactly what I want you to do.

They followed his advice and the rest is history, these were the results that followed on after that tour

- They became hugely popular on Canadian radio and started receiving US top 40 airplay.
- Who can it be now reached No 1 on the US billboard hot 100

- Down Under was finally released on the US hitting the charts at 79 and cracking the number one spot ten weeks later.

- They achieved a feat that no other Australian band had never done, which had Men At Work become the top Album and Single on both the US and Uk charts.

Their success became legendary selling over 30 million albums worldwide.

Thanks mainly to that exceptionally well-orchestrated plan that Dennis had devised for them.

Now you may be thinking to yourself right now…

I’m not a rock star Beanie, and I certainly don’t have the talent that Men At Work had, so how’s this going to translate across to my business?

The short answer is quite easily, in fact, there are so many digital marketing lessons in this story that I’m not going to be able to cover it all here in this one post today.

1. They had a product that they knew the market wanted to buy. That was evident by the crowd at the pub that Dennis had to fight his way through to hear them play.

3. They went to their market and played in front of them.
4. They had a very solid call to action, Come down and see us play more. Even though they were in front of a huge crowd opening for Mac, Dennis knew that without converting that “exposure” into action it’d be completely wasted.
5. They generated a massive amount of word of mouth advertising because they delivered an experience worth talking about.

This is a photo of my street and it’s the same thing week after week. Around mid-week a plethora of FREE newspaper – magazines are delivered.

From Wednesday to Sunday the streets are literally littered ( as per the photo above) with unrequested rubbish that’s disguised under the name of FREE newspapers.

Over 150,000 (that’s just from one publisher) of these damned things are left lying on the streets (each one in a plastic bag) every week.

On Sunday (the day before bin collection day) the streets are finally free of this environmental vandalism.

You’re picking up (pun intended) what I am putting down her right?

The papers are delivered midweek, the streets are littered with them for 3 to 4 days, then the day before bin day all of a sudden they disappear.

Where do you think they are going?

Perhaps all of a sudden the day before bin day people think to themselves…

Mmm I haven’t read all of those papers lying out on the footpath, I had better go and grab them and have a read of them.

Yep, that’s SARCASM!

With the plethora of options available for the consumption of media today, how many people do you think still read the newspaper?

Even though you already know what I am saying makes sense, there’s an easy sure fire way to confirm your suspicions that I’m right.

Talk a walk around the streets of your own Neighbourhood on a Thursday or Friday and you’ll soon see what I am talking about.

They could simply send out a postcard to each house that they currently deliver a newspaper to with the following text on it.

It’s time the print media woke up to it and started producing a product the consumer actually wants to consume.

Two Stupidly Simple Reasons No One See’s Your Facebook Page Posts!

True Story

The only kind I tell ha!

The other day I saw a post on Facebook which I am starting to see more regularly.

It ran along these lines…

“I saw a video the other day that said Facebook no longer is a good place to promote your business. I only see a small majority of the people that I’m friends with (this person has over 1000 friends?? seriously) in my feed. I basically only see updates from the people that I regularly interact with. So I believe that video is right, Facebook doesn’t work for business anymore”

I was about to go on my “the problem isn’t Faceboook it’s the way that you’re using it rant”, but I thought to myself.

You know what?

Why would I bother wasting my time talking to someone who would rather find excuses why Facebook is to blame for their business’s problems, than look for a solution to the issue’s their business is currently facing ?

I’m better of spending my time writing a post to help people that actually want to take advantage of the huge opportunity that Facebook presents.

That opportunity of course is that Facebook is the most cost effective, targeted form of advertising available bar none IMHO.

Here is where a lot of people just like yourself get lost with this topic though.

Obviously there are people out there who make video’s about why Facebook is a waste of time for Small Business Owners like yourself.

Then I might add they break their necks getting across to Facebook to post their video and proceed to (like the person above) whinge to all and sundry about the fact that Facebook doesn’t work.

So my question is if Facebook doesn’t work why do they bother using it at all?

Are you picking up what I am putting down here?

Anyway I digress. The big question for you is? How do you know who to listen to?

The likes of myself who sing it’s praises, or the naysayers that use the platform to bag it.

The stupidly simple yet unbiased way for you to figure out who to listen to.

Find someone who is getting the result that you want to get, and listen to them. After all habits breed results.

When it comes to marketing a business via Social Media the go to person that fits into that category is Gary Vaynerchuk.

Gary has a YouTube show called AskGaryVee, and he was recently asked this question.

“If you could only market on one social platform, which would it be and why?”

Gary’s response goes something like this….

“I am pissed of with everyone continually asking this question. This is a Non Debate it’s Facebook my friend because of it’s data and the overwhelming accuracy of who you are targeting”

Don’t take my word for it, take a quick look at the first two minutes of the video below which is the actual show and the response Gary gave that I am talking about.

The major beef people have with Facebook is that no one see’s their posts anymore.

There’s two reasons no one see’s their posts.

They’re to stingy to spend even just a couple of dollars to promote it.
No one wants to see what they’re posting.

Here is my rule of thumb for working out what you should be posting to get more reach.

You need to show people what they want to see, and once you have their attention turn that into what you want them to do.

Let me repeat that for you because it’s vitally important.

This is what people are currently doing.

They’re showing people what they want them to see (which they’re programmed to avoid because it’s generally advertising) and then they complain because they get no reach, and or no one interacts with their posts.

In the early days of Facebook the interaction was massive. You could literally (and many business did) post any old crap and people would like it.

What happened next is the same thing that happened with email. When email was new people got excited with every one they received.

Then their inboxes started to fill up with crap and they got wise and became a whole lot more selective about what they opened.

Same thing happened on Facebook. People’s feeds started to choke up with crap that they didn’t really want to see (but felt obligated to like because someone asked them to) so they stopped liking it.

A simple $2 test to prove reach isn’t your problem.

If your posts are not getting shown to your pages likers, odds are reach is the least of your problems. In fact I can prove that getting you more reach won’t increase your interaction if you’re still not showing people the type of posts that they want to see.

Take what you consider your best post, boost it with $2 and see what happens?

Unless you know how to structure your Facebook posts correctly I’ll bet you will be surprised at how little interest you get.

I have shared great pieces of content that have reached only 3 people. It literally drives me nuts sometimes, but there was either 1 of 2 problems with that piece of content.

I didn’t have a headline good enough to capture people’s attention and compel them to take an action.
They just didn’t want to see what I was showing them.

I repeat you need to show people what they want to see, not what you want to show them.

Once you get this right you can get massive reach with just a small investment. I’ll give you an example in a minute, but first I want to compare the reach you can get via Facebook against a local newspaper.

I want you to fully grasp just how powerful and cost effective Facebook advertising is.

I saw a local newspaper here on the Sunshine Coast the other day claiming to have 24,000 readers. Why that figure? It’s because that’s how many homes they deliver their paper to.

They claim those stats even though every week you can walk up and down my street for the first two to three days after that particular paper is delivered, and it’s lying still wrapped in plastic, (which is a huge environmental issue and a rant for another day) out the front of every second house.

My point is no one rushes out to grab it to see what’s inside, so how many copies actually make it inside a house and get read instead of just going straight into the bin?

My guess would be out of that 24,000 supposed readers, if you placed an advertisement in that paper you would be lucky if your ad was seen by 100 to 200 people (I’m being very generous here) that are actually interested in your product or service.

Assuming the newspaper charges about $150.00 (which is cheap for that type of advertising) for a very small text based ad. And lets be generous and say that your ad gets read by 300 people actually interested in your business. How does that compare to a Facebook post?

Do you reckon that I could reach more people than that with a FREE Facebook post?

1250 people reached, and I didn’t spend a cent on that post, it’s starting to make that newspaper ad look a little expensive and ineffective don’t you think?

Why did so many people see it?

They saw it because I showed people what they wanted to see, not what I wanted to show them.

Now that’s (1250 reach) a pretty good result, a lot of business’s don’t achieve that in a week. But it’s got nothing on what I did on my fishing page.

Check this out…

That’s 33,264 people that are highly targeted for fishing looking right at my post.

6116 of them watched the video, but it gets even better 118 of them liked my page so I can advertise to them over and over for a pittance, and I know the exact topic to talk to them about.

Huge point here, they watched a video. You can’t put a video in the local newspaper can you?

So imagine this…

I’m Beanie the local fishing charter operator, tackle shop owner, boat yard owner. I post that video because it’s what people want to see.

Then I boost it with a couple of dollars, and my page starts to fill with highly qualified likers that I can then start educating about how good my products are.

That’s not the best bit though, remembering there is no guarantee that you will get results anything like what I have done here.

In fact I haven’t seen anyone online that has shown stats that even come close to that.

But if I had use just two magical words, and simple lead generation system at the end of that video, even if I only converted 1% of the video viewers into buyers I could have made…

The Number One Reason You Won’t Get Any More Sales By Sending More Traffic To Your Website

So you have a website and it rarely (if ever) generates any sales for your business?

But you know what the problem is right? It just doesn’t’ get enough traffic.

If only you could get a truckload of traffic (or a large amount of media exposure) you would be set right?

Well I have something to tell you that you not really going to want to hear, but ignore this at your peril.

If your website isn’t generating sales (or email optins) with a small amount of traffic, sending larger volumes of traffic to it isn’t going to solve your problems.

In fact it’s only going to make matters worse as you will become increasingly frustrated that you spent a large chunk of cash on traffic, only to find out those visitors didn’t buy because?

Your real problem is that your conversion process sucks.

Now you maybe thinking what do you mean by conversion process Beanie?

You just send people to your website from an advertisement, and they either buy or they don’t right?

If you aren’t making enough sales you just need more traffic. That’s the way it works isn’t it?

Short Answer is No.

That’s not the way it works. And that thinking is the reason the majority of business owners never get a decent return on the money they invest in their advertising.

The advertisement that he ran yielded a very poor result for him. Let’s break down those figures right now and see just how bad it was.

At last count between 2007 and now he has had a grand total of 33 downloads!
That works out at $90.90 per lead to give away a FREE BOOK!

So what went wrong?

It’s pretty simple really, the advertisement just didn’t compel people to take action.

I am not writing this article to scare you off of magazine advertising. On the contrary. A well written ad in a highly targeted magazine can work exceptionally well.

If you get it right.

What I want you to get out of this post is the fact that you get can as much of these as you like…

Massive Media Exposure.
Truckloads of Traffic.
Enormous Email Lists to send your offers to.

But it’s going to make very little difference to your business unless your website is set up properly to convert them into customers.

Now that may not be what you wanted to hear. But guess what? It’s a good thing because..

It’s one of the quickest easiest ways to generate tons more sales and grow your business fast.

So let’s take a look at what you need to do.

Select a single target market.
Get them to identify themselves as having a problem you can fix.
Send them to a very specific web page that speaks only about their problem.
Collect their details so that you can follow up with them.

Let’s write an example ad right now. This is one I would write for myself.

The headline grabbed their attention and got them to actually read the ad.
The ad spoke to the problem that they currently have.
I gave them a compelling reason to want to learn more.
I gave them a very clear call to action to take.

So the question now is?

Where do I send the people that are ready to take immediate action?

Before we take an in depth look at the marketing side of what is going to happen next, here is a quick tip that will save you enormous amounts of time and anguish when you’re setting this up for yourself.

I use a tool called Leadpages (click here to learn more about leadpages) to set up what is technically known as a landing or lead page. And I use Leadpages to do it because to put this as simply as possible.

It’s the most cost effective tool every small business owner that’s serious about growing their business quickly should have at their disposal.

So what would be on the website that I send them to?

The headline is exactly the same as the headline in the ad. You can take a look at the site I have set up for that ad above by clicking here…

That’s so that when they land on that website they’re not looking around for the information that they want, it’s right in front of them where they can’t miss it.

The headline grabs them straight away and their brain goes yep we’re in the right spot, keep reading.

Then I kick straight into the reason that I sent them there for, which is to learn how to write compelling magazine ad’s.

Lastly of course I have my own call to action, which in this case is sign up for the FREE live training I am offering.

What you do at this point really depends on your business. You could simply ask them to enter their email address for an in-depth FREE Report or video training series. Or you could use one of these options below…

Enter their contact details for a discounted consultation.
Get them to come into your shop for a special offer.
Have them call you for more information.
Have them sign up for Free Online Training You’re running.

The list of possible options goes on and on. The point of it all is to compel them to give you their contact details so that you can start educating and motivating them to buy from you.

And that’s pretty much it.

That’s how you quickly and easily save yourself bucket loads of money on your advertising, and start generating a ton more sales.

Is It Really Possible To Effectively Test Advertising With Just $2?

Short answer? It’s not only possible, but IMHO anyone that’s not (testing their ad’s with a couple of $) must have rocks in their head for not taking advantage of it. Why?

Because they’re literally flushing hundreds if not thousands of dollars straight down the toilet every time their ad’s go to print. Give me one good reason you would spend your cold hard cash without testing (for peanuts) first when that’s a readily available option?

Come on hit me with your best reason, I’ve got to hear it!

I have been talking about $1.00 & $2.00 Facebook ad’s for a while, but for some reason quite a few people still aren’t getting it.

I can only put it down to 1 of 2 things…

They’re either not sure how it all works, and they’re to afraid to admit to that.
They don’t believe it’s possible.

What’s the catch with $2 Ad Testing?

The catch is you have to spend $2.00, that’s it. I mean for f#cks sake, are people seriously that paranoid about giving Facebook a couple of bucks?

I have literally had people tell me that “it can’t be that easy, there must be some sort of a catch”.

That mentality blows my mind. If they’re that sure it can’t be done you’d reckon they would at the very least spend a couple of dollars to try and prove me wrong.

I mean I am talking about seriously significant savings here, so you would think it would be worth their effort to try it, just so they could be 100% certain they weren’t missing out on something?

Hell I have even offered to give some of them the $2.00 to get started, yet they still can’t bring themselves to do it.

The stupidity of it all is

The exact same people will fork over hundreds of dollars for print ads (that they will admit themselves they have no clue whether they’re actually working or not ) without blinking an eye because wait for it.

That’s what we have always done. You have to get your name out there right?

Let’s take a look at what I have achieved here.

I tested 5 different advertisements with just $9.00
I had the results back within a few days.

If I had gone to a newspaper to test the same thing I would be looking at least $750.00 for the ad’s and it could literally take weeks to see any results.

Another point worth mentioning. I can’t get those video views in a newspaper or magazine. I mean what is a couple of minutes of your customers attention worth to you?

A couple of minutes where you can literally demonstrate to them how well your products work. I also now have a way of deliberately targeting the people that interacted with my first advertisement.

I could spend my time (like many Facebook Page Owners) bitching and moaning about paying for my likers to see my posts, or I can look at it like this.

I just literally saved myself hundreds of dollars in ineffective advertising with how much risk?

$9.00 that’s it. The price of two cups of long black (my favourite coffee)!

Would you stand at a coffee shop that you’ve never been into before and agonise over whether you’re actually going to get your $9 worth if you buy two cups of coffee?

Of course you wouldn’t. Why? Because the risk is minimal.

We’ve all had really bad cups of coffee. What do you do when that happens? You just get over it and move on right? You should carry that exact same attitude across to your advertising.

As you can see above some ad’s work some don’t. It’s simple a matter of testing them cheaply and working out which ones are which. It ain’t rocket science.
