- In this digital age, it’s imperative that managers have solid written skills, and know how to manage social media effectively. What better way to prove to you that I possess those skills than to show you them in action right here.
- What employers like yourself really want to see is proof of the applicants work in action, not just some hyped up
document they have paid someone else to do for them just to make themselves look and sound good. How do I know this? I’ve spent weeks on various construction projects reading resumes and hiring individuals based on them. Numerous times I hired people based on the skills listed on their resume only to find out when they arrived on site, that the skills they actually possessed were vastly different. - To prove to you that I can identify gaps in a market, develop effective advertising and promotional activities, brand analysis and continual development of the organization’s presence with online and social media” I am doing all of that right now. The success of every product, service, company,
gadget comes back to the strength of the marketing behind it. Nothing is immune to poor ineffective marketing anymore. Especially not resumes.

Why am I looking for a job?
In 2008 I was trading options when the stock market crashed in October. With it went everything that we owned, including our house.
Before that happened I had been bored and looking for a new challenge, so I learned digital marketing via an online program called The Challenge.
I used the knowledge that I gained from The Challenge to built myself a strong online presence.
However, my business isn’t at the stage where I can just do it full time.
Hence the reason for this post and my approaching you about a position within your business.
Marketing and business development aren’t my only strengths, managing teams is also another skill that I’ve honed.
This is another specialty of mine built through 25 plus years as a construction supervisor and superintendent, on projects worth Millions to Billions of Dollars.
The construction project environment is one of the most demanding business situations to manage people in.

We let’s take a quick look at the obstacle’s faced by a construction supervisor.
- You usually have between 3 – 12 months to build a crew and complete you area on time and under budget.
- You get lumped with a heap of guys that you really don’t know. This means that you have to figure out extremely quickly what their skill levels are and ensure that they don’t hurt themselves all while working in an extremely high risk environment, with tight deadlines and budgets to meet.
- Just to make it a little bit easier (a little sarcasm goes a long way sometimes, lol) the majority of projects we build are out in the middle of the desert in extreme temperatures. The guys you supervise are away from their families (usually four weeks at a time) so that brings with it another set of challenges.
Once you can successfully manage people, under those circumstances, managing people in any other business environment is a breeze.
